Chick Of All Trades, LLC was created in 2006, a one-woman shop offering home remodeling services to those intimidated by the typical estimates from typical contractors. Motivated by her working knowledge of running a small business, and seeking to help those working on a budget, owner Val Solorzano started Chick Of All Trades with little more than her vision and tenacity to persevere.
In 2007, Val began Chick Of All Trades' sister company - C.O.A.T. Flagging. C.O.A.T. originally focused on providing traffic control and flagging services for construction projects in metro Portland, OR and southwest Washington state, working with TriMet and the City of Portland on the Light Rail Expansion project in downtown Portland. The company has since grown tremendously, and is now working on a large variety of projects - including city- and federally-funded projects - throughout the Pacific Northwest.
